Born from a Simple Belief
Aura & Ash began in 2008 when founder Elena Morrison grew frustrated with the disposable nature of modern furniture. After inheriting her grandmother's century-old dining table—still sturdy, still beautiful—she wondered: why don't we build things to last anymore?
Starting in a small Brooklyn workshop with two master carpenters, Elena set out to create furniture worthy of being passed down. Each piece would be crafted with the same care and attention that her grandmother's table had received a hundred years ago.
Today, we work with over 40 artisans across three workshops, but our philosophy remains unchanged: build beautifully, build sustainably, build to last.

We've been carbon neutral since 2016, and in 2024, we launched our regenerative forestry program, planting three trees for every one we use.
